Early Valentine's Day Treats

Last weekend the kids and I made "early Valentine Cookies" our weekly baking project (to ensure the ever-present glass pedestal that sits center stage on our kitchen island is filled with treats for the rest of the week).

We recognized it was bit early for Valentine's cookies, but after the amount of chocolate we ingested around Brice's birthday (between layers upon layers of chocolate cake, Oreos, and Chocolate Chip Pancakes) we were all ready for a break from Chocolate. The kids wanted to use the cookie cutters - and any day is a good day to celebrate LOVE... so Heart Cookies it was.

We made a special cookie for each of the kids that they got to enjoy right away: Mazlow licked his name off his cookie before I could even snap a picture of him with it! I even made a couple for Brice and myself... (No idea why I put "Mom" instead of "Melissa" since I opted for "Brice" vs. "Dad" - Oh Well!)
