Operation 8th Birthday Party: The 8-Legged Race

To build the concept of teamwork the first game at the party was an 8-legged race. Using two sets of 2x4's, Brice and I created the race mechanisms by drilling sections of webbing onto the boards where the kids feet would slide in, enabling 4-kids to be strapped to the 2x4's at once - and forcing them to work as a team to get moving across the finish line. This would have been an awesome team-building exercise, had it not been for the fact that the webbing kept popping off the 2x4's (Note to self: next time use washers!) At any rate, the kids had fun, and Nicole and I were resourceful, transforming this game mid-way into a 3-legged race by using their bandanas to tie their feet together.
