Lights on the Lake

Last year, the week after Thanksgiving we discovered a neat event in Couer D'Alene (about 45-minutes from us).

The resort on the lake puts up a million bazillion lights and offers boat trips where you can coast around the lake looking at the lights with the final destination being an island where Santa lives. When the boat pulls up to the island it slows down, and up pop lights which illuminate Santa working in his shop. Santa pulls out a list of names (of the kids on the boat) and goes over the list reading the names aloud (and adding some comedy as he goes). When he got to Ryder and Landin's names he mentioned how much Santa wished they would do a better job cleaning their rooms (SWEET!). The kids are blown away that Santa knows their names and talks to them, and then the show is over and the boat turns back towards shore. We sipped hot chocolate and enjoyed the awesome light show. It is a beautiful trip, and well worth taking the time for if you live in the area.
