Christmas Eve (Night)

It was finally dark on Christmas Eve, and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner of Tri-Tip, Green Salad, Garlic Bread and Potatoes. There were just a few things left to do before sending the kids off to bed...

We had to finish off our Advent Calendar. The kids had a lego advent calendar this year, where for each day of December they got to open a window which revealed a mini-bag of legos along with instructions on what they were to build. When you added all the sets up from the whole month, it made a lego city. It was a nice alturnative to candy advent calendars, since we're not big on too much sugar for them.
With our advent calendar completed, it was time to read some Christmas Books. Each of the kids picked-out one, and we sat in the big chair all together and read them aloud. After the fun Christmas books, the last thing to do to make the night complete was to read the Christmas Story together from the book Luke. We used Landin's bible this year, and cuddled-up once more to share the true story of Christmas. By the time we were finished with the Christmas Story, the kids were fading quickly, and didn't even put up a fight when we hauled them off to bed and tucked them in. Tomorrow was Christmas!
